Chemical Peels

circle background

Chemical peels are professional-strength exfoliating treatments used to refresh the skin’s surface, support clarity, and stimulate cell turnover.

At Allure Derma, we offer a range of peels suited to different skin types, conditions and tolerance levels — always following a comprehensive skin consultation.

Peels are selected based on your individual skin goals, and performed under trained supervision in a clinical setting.

What Chemical Peels May Help With

Chemical peels may support improvement in the appearance of:

  • Dull or congested skin

  • Uneven tone and rough texture

  • Superficial pigmentation or sun damage

  • Mild acne and breakouts

  • Fine lines and visible pores

We offer multiple peel types, from mild enzyme-based peels to deeper clinical solutions. Your practitioner will recommend the most appropriate option for your skin.

How Chemical Peels Work

Peels use carefully formulated solutions (such as lactic, glycolic, mandelic, salicylic or blended acids) to remove dead surface cells and stimulate new skin renewal. This process reveals fresher, smoother-looking skin while also supporting hydration and product absorption.

Peels do not bleach or thin the skin when performed correctly, and can be adjusted in strength to suit your sensitivity and goals.

What to Expect

Treatment time is usually 30–45 minutes. Depending on the type of peel, you may experience mild tingling, warmth, or tightness during or after treatment. Post-treatment effects vary from a light glow to temporary dryness or flaking, depending on depth.

A series of treatments is often recommended for progressive results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my skin peel after treatment?

Not always. Some peels cause visible flaking or dryness, while others deliver results without obvious shedding. Your practitioner will explain what to expect based on the peel type selected for your skin.

Are chemical peels painful?

Most peels cause mild to moderate tingling or warmth during application. The sensation is temporary and well-tolerated. Stronger peels may feel more intense but are monitored closely for comfort and safety.

How many sessions will I need?

While some clients notice improvement after one treatment, a course of 3–6 peels spaced 2–4 weeks apart is often recommended for best outcomes. Your treatment plan will be customised during your consultation.

What should I avoid after a peel?

Aftercare is essential. You should:

  • Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF daily

  • Avoid exfoliants, retinoids and active skincare for several days

  • Avoid heat exposure (e.g. spas, saunas, intense exercise) for 24–48 hours

  • Keep skin hydrated and avoid picking or peeling any dry areas

Can chemical peels treat acne?

Chemical peels can support clearer skin by helping reduce surface congestion and managing breakouts. For moderate to severe acne, a full skin assessment is needed and referral to a GP or dermatologist may be advised.

Are peels safe for all skin types?

We offer options suitable for a wide range of skin types, including sensitive or pigmentation-prone skin. Suitability is always confirmed during consultation to avoid adverse reactions.
